Sunreef - Epoxy resin - "Quality above all"

Sunreef Yachts has started to build its 15th unit Sunreef 62 Catamaran of COMPOSITE materials.

Research and experience in composite construction by Sunreef engineers, confirmed by laboratory tests, let one conclude that the matrix epoxy fibre sandwich construction yields the highest strength and longevity of the boat.

Of the three major groups of resin that can be chosen to build with; polyester, vinylester, epoxy, the best performance of all, in mechanical properties, is epoxy. What's more, epoxy alone with vinylester, protects the entire structure from osmosis, water absorption into the laminate and eventually into the core itself.

Sunreef Yachts is one of the few shipyards in the world building semi custom yachts utilising epoxy resin system and high performance fibreglass products coupled with carbon reinforcement in high load areas. For fully customized yachts, a customer's option is a structure engeineered in all carbon fibre and epoxy resin.

In any case, the use of epoxy is worthy of closer attention for all those whose primary concern is the highest quality and the boat's strength and longevity.

As a natural consequence of technical progress at Sunreef shipyard, we propose two new models, the Sunreef 67 Power and Sailing, made of epoxy in their standard version, the same for a new Sunreef 78 Power.

At Sunreef we manufacture semi custom and custom yachts, sail and power catamarans, our own masts and booms of epoxy carbon and offer vaccuum bag and resin infusion sandwich laminates.
