“One Shot” patented Infusion system

The engineering company LOF tech  based  in Bordeaux, France in collaboration with the epoxy resin formulator Resoltech has developed a “One Shot” patented Infusion system to make seamless hollow parts enabling to reduce the production labor time up to 50%.

 The “One Shot” infusion system eliminates physically demanding steps like trimming, sanding and bonding parts for final assembly, therefore increasing productivity but also helps improving working conditions of operators as no more dust is generated.

The seamless hollow parts produced are lighter thanks to the elimination of any unions and their mechanical characteristics are greatly improved thanks to the suppression of bonding traditionally done with adhesives reinforced with hand laminations. 

This increase of productivity reduces the cost of the final part while enhancing the production capacity of composite manufacturers, but it also enables to industrialize production processes and reduce the quality differences inherent to the skill difference of workers.

LOF tech developed this process initially to mold a one-piece kayak (deck + hull  + spray skirt coaming) presented at the 2007 JEC show in conjunction with a  carbon fiber lenticular wheel and is now applying the same process for 27 meters long sailing yacht masts and booms.

Resoltech, in Eguilles - France has specially developed very low viscosity infusion epoxy resins for the closed molding technology of LOF tech who is now licensing this technology to composite parts manufacturers.
